There are plenty of blogs out there, however, this one is mine. I will give a brief history of myself, along with explaining what this blog will consist of, and how it came about.

Firstly, my name is David Benford, I am 30 years of age, a student at Tarrant County College, and a 12 year Army veteran. I was born and raised in the city of angels, Los Angeles. I had the pleasure of serving four combat tours - 34 months in the beautiful, mountainous, "I went back in time 200 years" desert oasis known as Afghanistan, along with 15 months in the flat, dry, "I am trying to be a modern war torn country" known as Iraq. I have completed the grueling 62 day journey through hell they call Ranger School, along with Airborne School, and Advanced Situational Training - as well as some minor courses that are not really worth mentioning here. I have been stationed everywhere, ranging from Hawaii to Germany, as well as some continental states such as Kentucky and California. I currently live in the Metroplex of Texas, from where I write you from today.

I have always had an interest in astronomy, from as far back as I can remember, starting in elementary school. I was always sitting in the library reading books on Jupiter and Saturn, where comets came from and how planets revolved around the Sun. And that's where I became lost. I had a fascination in space but I didn't realize there was math involved. My young mind thought planets and stars were just there for myself and others to gaze and ponder about, I did not realize I had to learn calculus to completely understand how the planets revolved, and that's how this blog came about.
What you will have in front of you may consist of stories of recent discoveries made by those who can do the math, pictures of the beautiful universe for which we reside in, and hopefully an interview or two from employee's working at NASA down in Houston, Texas.
